Modern white fillings are made from composite resin, providing a durable, yet unnoticeable, solution for decayed or damaged teeth. They can also be used to replace existing amalgam (silver) fillings as they have a more attractive appearance.

Dr Afzal generally only recommends white fillings for small to medium-sized cavities. When a larger filling is required, a porcelain inlay or onlay will be more effective and longer lasting.
